Programme commencement dates and lecture times

The two main intake dates for the City & Guilds programmes are in February and July each year. All other programmes have selective dates, which will be published on our website (

Full-time students will be required to attend classes from Monday to Friday, 09h00 to 16h00, or as per the programme schedule. From time to time, students will also be required to work during evenings and weekends.

Part-time students attend classes once a week from 18h00 to 22h00. This is usually on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, depending on your choice of programme and the training delivery schedule.

All students will receive a training delivery schedule with a timetable and year planner as per the programme layout.

Assessments will be conducted throughout the programme. Results will be sent to parents/guarantors/financiers/students after the completion of each module. City & Guilds exams (finals) will be written in June or November, or as prescribed by City & Guilds.

CTIA offers a shuttle service between the Centurion Gautrain station and the campus. Should you wish to make use of the service, please discuss this with the career consultant.

CTIA does not offer accommodation, but we are able to assist students in finding nearby accommodation for the duration of their chosen programme.

CTIA has agreements with several establishments offering accommodation exclusively to our students. Please note that student accommodation is limited due to the high demand, and you will need to apply well in advance. Once accommodation has been confirmed, all payment and related arrangements are between the student/guarantor/financier and the establishment; and not CTIA. Please speak to your career consultant if you intend to make use of student accommodation.

Our students are CTIA ambassadors, and they play an important role in furthering the standard and reputation of the academy.

Upon induction, students will receive a student guide with all the relevant rules and regulations. Adhering to the code of conduct and related requirements is compulsory for the duration of the training period. This disciplined environment prepares students for the hospitality environment and kitchen.

Students will attend a formal graduation ceremony on campus or at a selected venue after the full completion of their chosen programme. Ceremonies are usually held in May and November, but may change as per academic calendar.
